Introducing the Healthy Air Coalition’s Chair
We are pleased to announce that Dr Camilla Kingdon, NHS consultant and former President of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (2021-2024), has been appointed Chair of the Healthy Air Coalition.
Dr Kingdon will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in child and public health to the Healthy Air Coalition coalition, further strengthening our work to advocate for clean air and better public health.
Dr Kingdon has had an esteemed career as a paediatrician and neonatal consultant in the NHS. Her leadership at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, where she held the role of elected President until March 2024, was been marked by a focus on improving health outcomes for children and young people. Dr Kingdon’s steadfast commitment to child health saw her champion a new air pollution workstream at the Royal College.
As Chair of the Healthy Air Coalition, Dr Kingdon will act as a senior ambassador, a spokesperson in the media, at events, and within Parliament and Whitehall. She will be an important advocate, supporting the coalition’s initiatives, and engaging with key audiences on the need for urgent clean air policy change.
We are delighted to welcome Dr Kingdon to the Healthy Air Coalition and are excited about the positive contribution she will bring to our campaigns. Her convening skills and ability to communicate complex health issues clearly and effectively will help us to engage our key audiences and drive the changes needed to clean up the UK’s air.
A huge thank you to Sarah Woolnough, previous Healthy Air Coalition Chair, who left the role at the end of 2023. Sarah’s leadership has been key to our efforts to bring the clean air movement together, and we wish her all the very best.
